Musical Communities Programme

Youth Music is working with 13 organisations across England

to create a musically inclusive England.

Musical Communities is a Youth Music funded strategic music

programme working across Shropshire, Staffordshire,

Stoke-on-Trent and Telford & Wrekin led by Telford & Wrekin

Music.

Over the next three years our partnership will engage with

some of the most disadvantaged young people across the 4

local authorities, including Armed Forces families, looked after

children and young people in rural isolation. This funding will

allows us to provide positive targeted provision for our young people such as organising a range of performing opportunities, targeted music projects and career support for young musicians across the region.

Musical Communities also includes specialist training for our local music leaders and teachers to better support young people dealing with a range of challenging circumstances in their life. Our partnership places knowledge sharing and sharing best practice at the heart of the programme. There are already signs of the partners influencing and challenging practice already in place.

As a partnership we are incredibly passionate about offering young people the best possible opportunities for personal, social, educational and creative development.

“We believe in the potential of all young musicians, and that many more would excel at music-making if they had the right support and opportunities.” Youth Music

This funding is designed to ensure each partner provides sustainable high quality music-making programmes for all young people in their area.
